RIYADH: Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba has said that the international community is moving closer to a peace summit, but an end to the war with Moscow can only be attained if Kyiv’s peace plan is adhered.

In an exclusive interview the Arab News, he said it was too early to discuss specific venues or time for a global summit, but said the talks are moving in the right direction.

Earlier, top officials from more than 42 nations met in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s (KSA) city Jeddah on August 5 and 6 in an effort to draft the main principles on ending the conflict with Moscow.
Kuleba said that after the summit in Jeddah, he could conclude that they were definitely moving in that direction at a good pace,”. He said “We are working hard with Riyadh and other nations involved in organizing this summit, recommended by Kyiv.

“And the deliverable of this meeting is very clear — that the peace plan of Kyiv, which is a complete way to resolve the conflict, will deliver, and all of the problems covered by this plan will start to be executed,” he said. He further said that it was the only way forward based on global law and the UN Charter.”
