RIYADH: The Ukrainian envoy Petrenko Anatolii to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) has thanked Riyadh for hosting peace talks aimed at finding a peaceful settlement to war in Ukraine, Arab media reported on Sunday.

In a statement the Ambassador termed the summit in Jeddah as a very “constructive” step. He lauded Saudi Arabia for being so hospitable and committed to Kyiv in moving forward their peace formula plan.
“With Riyadh support, we succeeded in bringing together more than 40 nations national security advisers (NSA)”, he maintained.
Ukraine suggested its 10-point peace formula at summit on Saturday. A Ukrainian source told the media that the formula was “supported by several nations” at Jeddah talks. Ukraine and its allies hope it will lead to a deal on main principles for a peaceful settlement Ukrainian war.

The talks was part of a diplomatic effort by Kyiv in order to build support beyond its Western partners by reaching out to Global South in order to help reach a settlement to the conflict, which has hit economy worldwide.
Petrenko Anatolii said that it was a very constructive development. He maintained that the main aim after the two-day summit remained to “prevent military aggression against Kyiv, to reinstate its territorial sovereignty and integrity, to start the economic recovery of his country and, of course, to bring assurance into the UN charter and global laws.”
Moscow did not attend the summit in Jeddah but Moscow said it would “closely monitor” the proceedings.
A US official on Sunday expressed the US’s appreciation to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) for hosting the peace talks, terming it as “constructive,” Arab media reported.
