OTTAWA: Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy arrived in Canada on Thursday night from the United States (US) on an unannounced visit to rally support for his country as it fights the Russian invasion.
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau greeted Zelenskyy as he stepped off his plane in Ottawa, as seen on Canadian TV, travelling from Washington for his first visit here since the war started in February 2022.

In Washington, Zelenskyy met with U.S. President Joe Biden and leaders of Congress.
Canada is home to a significant Ukrainian community and Trudeau’s government has firmly committed to providing unwavering support to Ukraine in its confrontation with Russian forces.
Today (on Friday), Zelenskyy will hold formal talks with Trudeau and deliver a speech to the Canadian parliament.
Additionally, both leaders will journey to Toronto to convene with business figures and members of the Ukrainian-Canadian community.
