KYIV: Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has ruled out giving up any of Ukraine’s territory in a possible peace deal with Moscow.

He told BBC that surrendering land would mean Moscow could “keep coming back”, while Western arms would bring peace nearer. He added that a predicted spring assault has already begun. Zelensky said that Russian attacks are already taking place from several sides.

President Zelensky repeated his calls for more military assistance from his western allies. He said that Russians can understand only the language of weapons.

Zelensky met EU and UK leaders last week in an attempt to boost global support and to ask for modern weapons to defend his country. Reports said that Kyiv has become increasingly irritated with the speed with which Western arms have arrived.

He hoped that Belarus would not join the conflict. He added that If it joins the war, they will fight and they will survive. He added that their survival is unity. Ukraine’s President said that they are fighting for their survival and Kyiv is moving towards West economically. He added that any type of territorial concessions would make them weaker. He said that they cannot talks with Putin due to lack of trust.
