Ukraine Claims to Liberate Village from Russia

KYIV: The commander of the Ukrainian Ground Forces Oleksandr Syrskyi has claimed that the security forces of the country have liberated the village of Klishchiivka in the Donetsk region, Turkish media reported don Sunday.

The Ukrainian official in a statement on social media said the Ukrainian army has achieved success in the direction of Bakhmut.

Klishchiivka freed of Russians

He said Klishchiivka is freed of Russians and liberated by the forces of the 80th separate Airborne Assault Brigade, the 5th separate assault brigade, and the Joint Assault Brigade of the National Police of Ukraine rage’.

He praised the bravery of the soldiers of Ukraine.  The head of the Presidential Office of Ukraine, Andriy Yermak, lauded the military and thanked the soldiers for liberating the territory of Ukraine from occupation.

Earlier the Ukrainian General Staff announced that the village of Andriyivka in the Donetsk region had been freed from the Russian armed forces.

Since the start of the war between Russian and Ukraine in Februray 2022 at least 500,000 people from both countries have lost their lives and tens of thousands are injured in the 18-month war.

Earlier Denmark and the Netherlands had announced to provide Ukraine with F-16 fighter jets that could be delivered to Kyiv by the end of the year.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said the procurement of F-16s by Ukraine as a potential “nuclear” threat due to their ability to carry atomic weapons.

Russian defense minister Sergei Shoigu earlier claimed that the resources of Ukraine’s armed forces had been almost exhausted.

The situation remains highly tense in the area, with both sides engaged in military actions. The ongoing developments underscores the complex geopolitical landscape in the region.
