MOSCOW: A drone strike near the Russian-Ukrainian border in the Bryansk region resulted in a fire at an oil depot on Friday, regional governor, Alexander Bogomaz said.
Despite the neutralization of the Ukrainian drone, it inadvertently released a munition during interception, causing a blaze at the Klintsy oil depot, situated approximately 70 kilometers (45 miles) from the Ukrainian border. Governor Bogomaz assured that there were no casualties, and efforts to combat the flames involved the deployment of 13 fire trucks.

The Russian defense ministry reported the destruction of the drone and the prevention of a Ukrainian attack.
Meanwhile, a local rail operator mentioned that a specialized train equipped to handle large fires had arrived in the town to assist in extinguishing the blaze. Assuring the public, they stated on Telegram the fire will not impact rail traffic in Klintsy.
On Thursday, Ukraine took credit for a drone attack in the northern Leningrad region, which borders Finland and is situated almost 1,000 kilometers away from the border.
