ISLAMABAD: A man told a British court on Friday that he wanted to “injure” Queen Elizabeth after sneaking into Windsor Castle armed with a loaded crossbow on Christmas Day in 2021.

He admitted that he wanted to injure Queen Elizabeth II. The accused had also been charged with making a threat to kill the monarch and having a loaded crossbow in a public place.
Chail allegedly told a protection officer when he was arrested that he was here to assassinate the Queen.
He planned an assault as revenge for the 1919 Jallianwala Bagh massacre by British colonial forces, previous court hearings heard. The accused had sent out a video saying he would kill the monarch.
He appeared at the capital’s Central Criminal Court via video-link from high-security psychiatric hospital Broadmoor, and admitted all the charges. Jaswant Singh Chail is now due to be sentenced by the court on March 31.
The incident took place as the Queen spent Christmas Day at Windsor Castle with her eldest son Prince Charles.
