DUBAI: UK Foreign Secretary James Cleverly has emphasized the significance of the two-state solution as the only path to achieving security, stability, and prosperity for both Israelis and Palestinians.
During his visit to the Occupied Palestinian Territories, Cleverly held candid and insightful conversations with young Palestinians, acknowledging the importance of hearing their voices and addressing their challenges and aspirations. He emphasized the critical role of young Palestinians in shaping the future.
In a 50-second video posted by the Foreign, Commonwealth, and Development Office, Cleverly reiterated his commitment to the “two-state solution” and emphasized the necessity of “democratic renewal” in the region.

Referring to the ongoing violence and conflict in 2023, Cleverly expressed concern about the “unacceptable levels of violence and bloodshed.”
Impact of UK Support for Palestinian Refugees
Highlighting the positive impact of UK support for Palestinian refugees, he underscored the role of UK funding in providing education to millions of children across the Middle East.
In a separate video posted during his visit to Israel, with the Iron Dome defense system visible behind him, Cleverly characterized the Iron Dome as “state-of-the-art technology” that plays a crucial role in safeguarding regional security and stability.
Acknowledging the security concerns related to Iran, he emphasized the UK’s understanding of the threat posed by the nation.
