KAMPALA: Uganda’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Odongo Jeje Abubakher, reaffirmed the country’s support for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s proposal to hold Expo 2030 in Riyadh.
This was stated at a press conference held after General Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, President of the Republic of Uganda, met with Ahmed bin Abdulaziz Qattan, Advisor to the Saudi Royal Court, at the presidential palace in Kampala.
Abubakher remarked that Uganda welcomes Saudi Arabia’s hosting of the “first Saudi-African summit and the fifth Arab-African summit” in the Kingdom this year. He added that his country supports the Kingdom’s hosting of Expo 2030 in Riyadh.
Qattan, for his part, thanked and appreciated the Ugandan government for supporting Saudi Arabia’s proposal to host the prestigious event, viewing it as a testament to the close ties that unite the two friendly nations. —SPA/APP
