ABU DHABI: Anwar Gargash, the diplomatic adviser to the President of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), emphasized the urgent need for the United States to actively take steps for a swift end to the ongoing Israeli aggression in Gaza.

The diplomatic adviser stressed that finding a new, effective solution to the long-standing Israeli-Palestinian issue was paramount, warning that continued inaction could render the US ineffective on the global stage.

Speaking at a policy conference in Abu Dhabi, Gargash criticized Israel’s suppression policy, which has been a defining approach to the Palestinian issue for the past two decades. He highlighted the failure of this policy and called for a fresh perspective that addresses crucial elements such as refugees, borders, and East Jerusalem. Gargash emphasized the importance of the United States’ involvement in resolving the conflict swiftly, especially on the humanitarian front.

Gargash stated, “US involvement will be seen by how quickly we end this war, the quicker the better, and whether we can have another sort of process for issue solving. If this crisis continues, particularly its humanitarian aspect, and if it regresses back to the old containment policy, the US role here would not be seen as effective.”
