ABU DHABI: The UAE has provided Syria with ten ambulances in efforts to support the quake-hit Syrian people, WAM news agency reported.
The ambulances are equipped to travel off-road into rugged terrain and provide medical services to earthquake-affected areas.
UAE supporting basic humanitarian needs of Syrian people
The UAE strives to cover some of the essential humanitarian needs of the Syrian people, Dr. Salem al-Falasi said, who is in charge of following up on the requirements of the health sector in Syria.
The Health Department’s Associate Director in Latakia, Dr. Samer Ahmed, lauded the UAE’s ongoing efforts to support the health sector in Syria.
Ahmed said that the UAE’s support would ease the medical staff’s efforts to carry out their duties.
