MOSCOW: Russia and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) have called for an emergency UNSC meeting after the brutal Israeli airstrike on a hospital in the Gaza Strip.
The Russian envoy to the United Nations, Dmitry Polyanski, said via Telegram that Russia and the UAE have called for an immediate public meeting of the UNSC on October 18 over the airstrike on a Gaza hospital.

The development comes as the health ministry in the Gaza Strip also confirmed that more than 500 innocent Palestinian civilians, including women and children, were martyred in a brutal Israeli.
The hospital, a place of refuge for thousands seeking medical treatment and shelter amidst relentless Israeli bombardment, targeting commercial buildings, schools, homes and civilian residences, was hit in what Gaza’s Hamas government described as a “war crime.”
The hospital, which was also sheltering people forcibly displaced from their homes due to Israeli airstrikes, was reduced to rubble. Dr. Hussam Abu Safiya, the head of pediatrics at the Kamal Adwan Hospital, condemned the attack, calling it “unconscionable.” He emphasized the urgent need for international intervention to stop the targeting of hospitals and civilians in Gaza.

In a statement via social media President Erdogan said that targeting a hospital where there are children, women, and innocent people is the latest example of Israel’s assaults devoid of basic human values. Erdogan said, “I call on entire humanity to take measures to prevent Israel’s unprecedented brutality in Gaza”.
