UAE, Qatar Leaders Vow to Enhance Ties

ISLAMABAD: In response to an invitation Qatar’s ruler Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani, the UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al-Nahyan Qatar for talks aimed at boosting linkages in investments, trade, and economy.

The two leaders stressed Gulf states’ joint initiatives to fulfill their people’s wishes to achieve progress, development, and prosperity.

At the time of filing of this report, the UAE President had departed Qatar from Doha’s Hamad International Airport, according to the Emirates’ WAM news agency.

UAE Leader felicitated Sheikh Tamim

Earlier Sheikh Mohamed felicitated Sheikh Tamim and termed the FIFA World Cup’s hosting by Qatar a success that made dwellers of the Gulf and Arab region proud. He stressed this major achievement highlighted the region’s credentials to host events of international significance.

The United Arab Emirates was represented by Vice President Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al-Maktoum, and prime minister and ruler of Dubai, at the opening ceremony of the World Cup after receiving an official invitation.
