According to the Foreign Office, the visit reflects the depth of bilateral relations between the two countries and underscores the shared commitment of both sides to further strengthening cooperation in key areas, including trade, investment, energy, development, and regional stability.
Ahead of the visit, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Tuesday reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to further strengthening relations with the United Arab Emirates and invited greater UAE investment in key sectors to support Pakistan’s economic growth and stability.
The prime minister expressed these views during a meeting with UAE Ambassador to Pakistan Salem Mohammed Salem Al Bawab Al Zaabi at the Prime Minister’s House.
The UAE is Pakistan’s third-largest trading partner after China and the United States, and a major source of foreign investment, valued at over $10 billion in the last 20 years, according to the UAE foreign ministry.
It is also home to more than a million Pakistani expatriates who send back more than $5 billion in remittances to the South Asian country annually.
