BEIJING: The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has established a pavilion at the Shanghai Cooperation Organization International Investment and Trade Fair organized in Qingdao, East China’s Shandong Province.
UAE envoy to China, Hussain bin Ibrahim Al Hammadi, and the CPC Qingdao Municipal Committee’s member of the Standing Committee and head of SCO Model Zone Zhang Xinzhu jointly opened the UAE Pavilion.
Zhang lauded the establishment of the UAE national pavilion and said that the SCO Model Zone is based on financial and trade cooperation and tries to promote platforms and demonstration models in this field, an effort that both countries have unanimously recognized.
He said that the SCO Model Zone would strengthen connections with UAE enterprises to support them in expanding into the Chinese market.
UAE as SCO Family
UAE envoy Al Hammadi Hammadi said that as the UAE joins the SCO family, it will work with China and other member countries to achieve peace and prosperity, further promote regional development and contribute to global development.
The growing business relations between China and the UAE have been fruitful, with trade between the two nations reaching 100 billion dollars and expected to reach 200 billion dollars by 2030. The UAE has thirteen exhibitors dedicated to exploring cooperation avenues, building development capacity, and seeking for Chinese and international partners to build solid partnerships, the envoy said.
In May, the UAE was officially granted the SCO dialogue partner status. As a new member of the SCO circle, its Embassy in China actively participated in the 2023 SCO International Investment and Trade Fair (IITF) and was the largest exhibitor in the national pavilion.
