ABU DHABI: Foreign Minister of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan in a phone call with Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands, Hanke Bruins Slot, has discussed latest developments in war-hit Gaza strip, Emirati news agency reported on Friday.
During the call they talked about the efforts to safeguard the lives of all civilians from the consequences of the ongoing crisis.
The two leaders also touched on the importance of the ceasefire that has been reached in the Gaza Strip, and its role in enhancing the delivery of the necessary humanitarian, relief, and medical assistance to the people of Gaza-strip.

Sheikh Abdullah referred to the UAE’s support for all regional and global efforts aimed at ending extremism, tension, and escalating violence in the region.
He stressed the importance of sustaining the delivery of humanitarian aid to the people of Gaza in a safe and intensive manner.
War between Israeli forces and Hamas halted on Friday for the first time in last seven weeks in a temporary ceasefire ahead of the planned release of Israeli captives taken by Hamas in exchange for jailed Palestinians.

According to health authorities in Gaza, Israel has launched relentless air and ground attacks in the Gaza Strip following the Hamas attack, killing more than 15,000 Palestinians, including 6,150 children and over 4,000 women.
The dire situation in Gaza is compounded by an Israeli blockade, severing the region from essential supplies such as fuel, electricity, and water. Aid deliveries to Gaza have reached to a minimum.
