ISLAMABAD: The UAE soccer team won against Afghanistan 2-0 in a thrilling game of the 12th UAE Ambassador Cup 2024 trophy tournament.
The match was played at the UAE embassy grounds in Islamabad on Wednesday
The two teams showcased an impressive display of talent and determination with UAE taking the early with a goal by Saleem M. Afghanistan’s efforts fell short of goal as UAE extended their lead with another goal from Husan Zafir making it 2-0 at the final whistle.
Ambassador Hamad Obaid Ibrahim Salem AlZaabi graced the occasion and celebrated the UAE team’s triumph, joining them in their moment of glory at the embassy.
The passionate audience enthusiastically applauded the efforts of both teams throughout the match, particularly acknowledging the skill and spirit displayed by the UAE team.
Earlier, two matches were played between Qatar and PTCL and Jordan and Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
In the first match Qatar beat PTCL by six goals to one while Jordan and Ministry of Foreign Affairs match ended in a draw as both sides scored three goals each.
