DUBAI: The UAE and the Czech Republic have vowed to enhance bilateral cooperation in diverse fields of common interest, Arab media reported on Sunday.
According to Emirates News Agency, a top-level delegation from the UAE arrived in the Czech Republic with the aim of further expanding bilateral cooperation in diverse fields. The high-level delegation led by Ahmed Ali Al-Sayegh, the UAE Minister of State.
UAE, Czech Republic ties and bilateral cooperation
During the visit, the delegation held meetings with Czech Republic Prime Minister Petr Fiala; the Minister of Industry, the Minister of Finance and National Security Adviser, and many other top officials. The Avoidance of Double Taxation Agreement was also inked during the visit.
Al-Sayegh said that the signing of this accord and the enthusiasm to constitute a Joint Economic Committee, and the exchange of high-level trips, demonstrate the mutual desire of his country and the Czech to deepen further bilateral ties, which extend for over three decades, in all sectors, especially in trade and economy.
The two sides also vowed to strengthen cooperation in the sector of climate action in light of the UAE’s hosting of COP28.
During the trip, Al-Sayegh highlighted that bilateral cooperation in the economy had grown to great extent in recent years, especially following the inking of a deal on commercial, economic, and technical coordination between the two sides.
The deal also resulted in the execution of effective programs and procedures to discover opportunities for cooperation in investment, trade, and knowledge exchange, which will support the two countries’ long-term economic development and progress.
Al-Sayegh maintained: “The Czech is a prominent economic hub and a significant partner for the UAE in Europe.
The key deals signed by the two nations to help their developing bilateral economic engagement are the Investment Protection and Promotion Agreement, the Air Services Agreement, and the Avoidance of Double Taxation Agreement.
