DUBAI: Dr. Sultan bin Ahmed Al Jaber, president-designate for COP28 held a series of bilateral meetings with Chinese officials regarding upcoming climate change conference, Arab media reported.
He recently visited Beijing and discussed the partnership between the two sides ahead of COP28. He and Chinese officials also discussed means to promote low-carbon economic growth.
UAE-China Vow to Cooperate to address challenge of Climate Change
Dr. Al Jaber also spoke to the students at the Tsinghua University Institute for Carbon Neutrality during his stay in China. He also met with clean-tech entrepreneurs in a private sector, and advocated for investment in industrial de-carbonization with Chinese business and industrial leaders.
Dr. Al Jaber emphasized the significance of partnerships and working together to find practical solutions to address the challenge of climate change. He appreciated the UAE-China partnership as a model of cooperation toward sustainable, low-carbon growth and prosperity.
According to Arab news, the United Arab Emirates and China express their resolve to address the issue of climate change to save the future generation. Both sides had also made significant advances in developing clean technologies and reducing their carbon footprint, and they were determined to do more.
