UAE-Based 24 Players Included in International T20 Cricket League

ISLAMABAD: As many as 24 UAE-based foreign players including 13 from Pakistan have been included in six teams in the United Arab Emirates International League T20.

According to details, trials were held to ensure the inclusion of local players in the UAE for the inaugural season of the International League T20 in which a large number of players participated but only 24 players passed the rigorous process.

Emirates Cricket Board (ECB) Secretary Mubasher Usmani said:

“The inclusion of UAE-based players is welcome as new talent is being brought to the fore, which will undoubtedly be a good addition to the international players. There is no shortage of talent in the UAE.

All the players who participated in the trials were very good but we only selected those players who showed good performances. We are hopeful that these players will perform well in the international league”.

Names of selected players:

Matiullah Khan (Pakistan), Fahad Nawaz (Pakistan), Sabir Ali (Pakistan), Zawar Farid (Pakistan), Rohan Mustafa (Pakistan), Shiraz Ahmed (Pakistan), Ali Naseer (Pakistan), Ronq Panoli and Hazrat Luqman (Pakistan), Chirag Suri, Jash Ganyani, Raja Akifullah Khan (Pakistan), Ayan Khan, Sanchit Sharma, CP Rizwan, Ashwanth Walthappa, Mohammad Wasim (Pakistan), Tulsi Hameed, Waritiya Arvind, Zahoor Khan (Pakistan), Karthik Mapan, Alishan Shrafo, Junaid Siddique (Pakistan), Mohammad Jawadullah (Pakistan).

There are six teams in the International T-Twenty League, and thirty-four matches will be played between them. The opening match of the league will be played on January 13 at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.
