ISLAMABAD: A delegation of the General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) of the UAE, led by Abdullah Al Kaabi, Senior Director of Avsec Affairs, arrived at Islamabad International Airport (IIAP) for an aviation security (Avsec) assessment.
Air Cdre (R) Shahid Qadir, Director Avsec of the Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority (PCAA), welcomed the team on behalf of the Secretary of Aviation.
Abdullah reaffirmed the UAE’s commitment to strengthening Pakistan’s aviation security system through capacity and capability building.
The opening meeting was attended by Aftab Gilani, APM/COO, and all relevant airport stakeholders.
During the assessment until 27 June, the team will inspect the implementation of various security measures at the airport, with a specific focus on measures related to flights bound for the UAE.
This assessment, hosted by the Aviation Security Directorate of PCAA, underscores ongoing collaborative efforts between GCAA-UAE and PCAA to enhance aviation security standards in Pakistan.
