NEW YORK: Taylor Swift topped the list of celebrities at the U.S. Open final on Sunday, as another Taylor—Fritz—sought to break a 21-year American men’s major title drought in Arthur Ashe Stadium against Italian top seed Jannik Sinner.

Over the past fortnight, Flushing Meadows has seen an influx of stars from sports, television, movies, and music. The celebrity presence was as strong as ever for Sunday’s finale. Few stars in American pop culture shine as brightly as Swift, whose appearance at NFL games has caused ticket resale prices to soar. Last season, she set off a ticket-buying frenzy simply by attending a game to watch her boyfriend, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce. On Sunday, Kelce and Swift were seen arriving hand-in-hand, joining Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes and his wife Brittany at the match. They chose tennis over the NFL’s first Sunday of the season, following the Chiefs’ 27-20 victory over the Baltimore Ravens on Thursday.

Tournament organizers shared a video of the couple at Flushing Meadows on social media platform X, noting Swift’s global record-breaking success with her Eras Tour.  Among the crowd were former U.S. Open champion Andy Roddick, the last American man to win the title, and Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Jon Bon Jovi. Academy Award winner Matthew McConaughey was spotted wearing a red, white, and blue bandana.

Friends star Courteney Cox waved to fans, sporting sunglasses and the same blue U.S. Open giveaway hat seen on many in the stands. Also present were Today Show hosts Savannah Guthrie, Hoda Kotb, and Jenna Bush Hager, as well as nighttime talk show host Stephen Colbert, all enjoying a cool but sunny afternoon.
