ISLAMABAD/PHILADELPHIA: Seven people were shot and injured on a Philadelphia street corner on Thursday, including a two-year-old child and four teenagers, according to the city’s police chief.
Philadelphia Police’ statement
According to Philadelphia Police Chief Danielle Outlaw, the two-year-old’s mother was among the victims.
Police said that a teen was among the most seriously injured victims, who was stated to be in critical condition.
The gunfire erupted shortly before 6 pm local time (2300 GMT) near an elementary school, but Outlaw said the incident did not appear to have started there. Outlaw stated that, as a parent, she understands people’s concerns.
