RAWALPINDI: Security forces successfully eliminated two terrorists in an intelligence-based operation (IBO) conducted in the Dossali area of North Waziristan district in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) province, according to a press release by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
According to ISPR, the operation was launched based on credible intelligence regarding the presence of terrorists in the area. During the operation, a fierce exchange of fire took place between the security forces and the terrorists, resulting in the killing of two militants. The ISPR confirmed that weapons and ammunition were also recovered from the scene.
Terrorists Involved in Attacks on Security Forces: ISPR
The terrorists were actively involved in carrying out acts of terror against security forces and targeting innocent civilians. The security forces are now engaged in sanitizing the area to eliminate any remaining terrorists.
The local population of the area has shown immense support and appreciation for the operation, expressing their commitment to eradicating the menace of terrorism.
This recent IBO follows a similar operation conducted on May 24, where six terrorists were neutralized in Kot Azam, North Waziristan district. The security forces engaged in an intense firefight with the suspects, resulting in their elimination. Weapons and ammunition were also seized during that operation.
In a separate incident in May, a suicide attack in the Miran Shah area of North Waziristan claimed the lives of three Pakistani Army soldiers and three innocent children. The martyred soldiers were identified as Havaldar Zubair Qadir, Aziz Asfar, and Qasim Maqsood Umar. The children who lost their lives were 11-year-old Ahmed Hasan, eight-year-old Ahsan, and four-year-old Anam.
The security forces remain committed to maintaining peace and stability in the region and are actively targeting terrorist networks to ensure the safety of the local population and security personnel.
