Two Rockets Strike US Army Base in eastern Syria: CENTCOM

Islamabad: According to the US military, on Wednesday two rockets targeted an American army base in eastern Syria. The camp is hosting an anti-extremist coalition ed by the US. The strikes did not cause any casualties or damage.

The UK-based war monitor, Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, claimed pro-Iranian groups of the attack. The incident come a day after Iran marked the third anniversary of the assassination of a top general in an American drone strike.

At an observance event in Iran’s capital Tehran on Tuesday, President Ebrahim Raisi vowed “revenge” for the assassination of Qassem Soleimani, who had been commander of the Quds Force at the time of the attack. The force is the foreign operations arm of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.

The US military’s Central Command (CENTCOM), said in a statement, while not accusing any group, said that two rockets targeted allied forces at Mission Support Site Conoco, which is located in eastern Deir Ezzor province.
