PESHAWAR: Two police personnel including a DSP were martyred in a terrorist attack targeting a police van in Lakki Marwat, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, said Police officials on Saturday.
It said that they came under attack near the Manjiwala Chowk as a result of which DSP Gul Mohammad Khan and Constable Naseem Gul have embraced martyrdom. It added that one police personnel injured in the attack. The official maintained that the injured policeman was immediately shifted to the hospital.
DSP, Gunman Martyred in Northwest Pakistan
After the attack, a heavy contingent of police rushed to the site and launched a search operation to arrest the perpetrators of the attack.
Earlier, on Friday in a separate incident, a policeman was martyred when unknown armed men opened fire on the post-polio campaign team in South Waziristan.
Police officials said that the incident took place when the post-polio campaign assessment team was on a visit to the area. He said that they started investigation to arrest the culprits of the attack.
