ISLAMABAD/RAMALLAH: At least two Palestinians were martyred by gunfire during Israeli armed forces raid in Jenin, a city in the northern occupied West Bank, the Palestinian health ministry said on Thursday.

Israeli armed force raid

According to Arab News, the Palestinian health ministry announced the “martyrdom of Jawad Farid Bawaqna, who sustained a bullet in the chest, and Adham Mohammed Bassem Jabareen, who sustained a bullet in the upper abdomen after Israeli military’s raid in Jenin.”

The Israeli force did not issue any comment on the latest killings.

The Jenin incident raises the toll of Palestinian martyrs in recent months in the West Bank to 17, including militants and civilians.

Most of them were martyred by Israeli armed forces, which is occupying the West Bank since the 1967 six-day war.

The surge in violence in 2022 made it the deadliest year in the West Bank since the UN recording of the deaths began in 2005.

26 Israelis were killed, and 200 Palestinians were martyred across Israel and Palestinian territories during the previous year.
