RAWALPINDI: A firefight broke out between Pakistani troops and terrorists in the Jani Khel area of Bannu district, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, resulting in the martyrdom of two brave soldiers, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a press release on Saturday.
According to the ISPR, the Pakistani troops effectively engaged the terrorists’ location, leading to the elimination of two terrorists. However, in the intense exchange of fire, Naib Subedar Ghulam Murataza, aged 40 and hailing from district Bahawalpur, and Havildar Muhammad Anwar, aged 41 and a resident of district Sialkot, fought valiantly but embraced martyrdom.

Following the encounter, the area is being thoroughly sanitized to ensure the elimination of any other terrorists who may be hiding in the vicinity.
The armed forces of Pakistan remain resolute in their commitment to eradicate the menace of terrorism, and the sacrifices made by these courageous soldiers only strengthen their determination, ISPR said.
