BEIRUT: Israeli airstrikes in south Lebanon on Tuesday killed four civilians, including two journalists, according to official reports. Lebanon’s state-run National News Agency (NNA) confirmed the casualties in the Tair Harfa area, identifying three victims as two journalists and another civilian.

Al-Mayadeen, a Lebanese television network, reported that its correspondent Farah Omar and cameraman Rabih Maamari were among those killed in the bombardment. The Israeli military stated it is “looking into the details” of the incident.

In a separate incident in south Lebanon, the NNA reported that “enemy aircraft raided inhabited houses in Kfar Kila, leading to the death of citizen Laiqa Sarhan, 80, and the wounding of her granddaughter,” identified as a Syrian national.

Ghassan bin Jiddo, director of Al-Mayadeen, asserted that the attack was a deliberate and direct act. He mentioned it occurred following an Israeli government decision this month to block access to Al-Mayadeen’s website.

Israeli Aggression at Lebanon Border

The Israel-Lebanon border has witnessed ongoing exchanges of fire since the initiation of the Israel-Hamas war on October 7. The conflict has resulted in at least 95 casualties on the Lebanese side, including 14 civilians, three of whom were journalists.

Journalist Issam Abdallah from Reuters was killed on October 13, and six other journalists from AFP, Al Jazeera, and Reuters were wounded while covering the cross-border fire.
