Two–day Int’l Conference Concludes with Pledge to Expand CPEC

ISLAMABAD: A two-day international conference concluded here in Islamabad on Tuesday with a strong resolve to continue implementing the projects of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) at an accelerated pace for the prosperity and development of the country.

The conference was organized by the Ministry of Planning in collaboration with the Chinese Embassy in Islamabad.

The main objective of the seminar was to bring together policymakers, practitioners, and scholars, as well other stakeholders to exchange insights and ideas related to the economic, environmental, social, and geopolitical impacts of CPEC and BRI.

Projects Under CPEC and BRI

Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal, in his address, stressed the importance of investment and saving besides throwing light on the considerable development projects that are underway under CPEC and BRI.

Underlining the ongoing and upcoming projects under CPEC, he elaborated on their potential to transform the country’s infrastructure and economy.

He highlighted that these projects were not only aimed at physical connectivity but were also for the uplift of the lives of the common men and expediting socioeconomic development across Pakistan.

The minister specifically mentioned several important projects that had been identified as necessary components of CPEC, including the setting up of power plants and transmission lines, which were aimed at addressing the country’s energy needs and promoting industrial growth.
