Two Awarded Death Penalty in Osama Satti Murder Case

ISLAMABAD: A district and sessions court in Islamabad on Monday awarded death sentence to two accused and ordered life imprisonment for three others in the Osama Satti murder case.

Additional Sessions Judge Zeba Chaudhry pronounced the verdict that had been reserved by the court on the completion of the trial on January 31.

The court ordered the death penalty for two of the policemen, Iftikhar Ahmed and Muhammad Mustafa, alongside the imposition of a Rs0.1 million fine each.

Meanwhile, three other accused personnel, Saeed Ahmed, Shakeel Ahmed, and Mudassar Mukhtar were sentenced to life imprisonment.

The accused were brought to the court in handcuffs.

Trial of the case continued for over two years

It should be noted that the trial of the case continued for two years and one month.

Osama Nadeem Satti, 21, was shot dead by personnel of the Crisis Response Team (CRT) in the G-10/4 area of Islamabad on January 2, 2021.

The incident occurred at around 2 am when Osama went to drop his friend in Sector H-11. As he was returning, the police personnel intercepted his vehicle in Sector G-10, Srinagar Highway and opened fire at him from three sides before chasing him down.
