ISLAMABAD: Twitter’s Blue verified service is scheduled to launch on Friday, but only on Apple’s iOSmobile software, reported Reuters while citing an individual aware of the plans.
The rollout news comes a day after new Twitter owner Elon Musk in a series of tweets accused Apple of threatening to block Twitter from its app store. He said the iPhone maker was pressuring Twitter over content moderation demands.
According to Reuters, Twitter did not immediately respond to its request to comment.
Twitter’s Blue verified service

Twitter users who sign up to Blue are expected to get a blue checkmark on their profile, avail priority ranking with posts as well as see fewer advertisements. The social media giant said it would charge users $7.99 a month, but reportedly the price was set to increase by one cent as the company made amendments to the service.
The debut was a rough one after being revoked and postponed until after the midterm elections after its launch in early November, according to internal communication seen by The New York Times.
