ISLAMABAD: Moderate to heavy rain was recorded at various localities in the twin cities on Monday while the Met office predicted similar weather conditions for the next 24 hours.
Rain is expected in Islamabad, Pothohar region, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan and upper Punjab, as per Met officials.
Moderate to isolated heavy snowfall may occur in hilly areas. Isolated heavy falls are also expected in the upper parts during the period.

Cold and dry weather prevailed over most parts of the country, while rain/snow occurred in north Balochistan, north-east Punjab, Upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Gilgit Baltistan.

Air quality
The air quality in Lahore is 140 US AQI; in Bahawalpur, it is 212, 156 in Muridke, and 74 in Rawalpindi. In Sindh, the air quality in Karachi is 173 US AQI, and 219 in Mirpur Khas while Islamabad’s air quality stands at 55. In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), the air quality in Peshawar is 160.

According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (MET), a maximum of 9 degrees Celsius (°C) temperature was recorded in Islamabad, 14°C in Lahore, 16°C in Karachi, 11°C in Peshawar, -3.5°C in Quetta, and 4°C in Gilgit.
