Turkiye’s Entrepreneurs Show Keenness to Invest in Pakistan

ANKARA: Chairman Pak Yatirim and President DEIK Neil Olpak of Turkiye met with Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif in Islamabad on Saturday and indicated a strong desire to participate in Pakistan’s renewable energy and construction sectors.

The president of Türkiye’s Foreign Economic Relations Board, DEIK, told the prime minister of Turkish companies’ goals to invest in Pakistan. PM Shehbaz appreciated their willingness to invest in Pakistan.

Marriyum Aurangzeb, Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Tariq Fatimi, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister, and Dr. Yousuf Junaid, Pakistan Ambassador in Turkey, attended the meeting.

According to Marriyum Aurangzeb, the Chairperson of the Board of Turkish firm Limak Holding, Ebru Ozdmeir, met with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif in Ankara to discuss available opportunities in the construction, infrastructure, and energy sectors.

Trade and Investment Ties Between Pakistan and Turkiye

In a tweet, the minister said,”Ms. Ozdemeir will be coming to Pakistan with a delegation soon to directly interact with the relevant stakeholders and finalize the joint ventures to contribute to expanding trade and investment between Pakistan and Turkiye.”

Marriyum said Ebru Ozdmeir also discussed the unique and inspiring project Global Engineer Girls, an international philanthropic initiative to encourage the future generation of female engineers and provide education, mentorship, and job opportunities to girls and women.

In Pakistan, she said the initiative would educate and enable girls and women to get experience and pursue jobs in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.
