Turkey’s Deficit in September was 78.6 b liras

Turkey’s federal government budget recorded an increase of 83.3 billion Turkish liras ($4.5 billion) in October, according to data from the Ministry of Finance and Finance released on Tuesday.

The deficit widened to 78.6 billion Turkish lira in September this year, from 17.4 billion Turkish lira in October 2021, the data showed.

APP reported that the budget of Turkey stood at 224.2 billion lira, while the expenditure stood at 307.4 billion lira last month.

Non-interest expenses amounted to 246.3 billion liras and interest payments amounted to 61.1 billion liras in October. One US dollar was worth 18.5743 Turkish lira last month and 16.1591 in the ten months to October.

In the January-October period, the budget balance recorded a decrease of 128.8 billion Turkish lira, compared to a decrease of 78.5 billion Turkish lira in the same period last year.
