TTP Commander Among Five Terrorists Held Across Pakistan’s Punjab

LAHORE: The Punjab Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) has claimed having arrested five suspected terrorists during intelligence-based operations at various locations in Punjab.

According to the CTD officials, 179 intelligence-based operations were conducted collectively in Pakpattan, Bahawalpur, Rawalpindi and Sahiwal in which five terrorists were arrested. They said an important commander of the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), identified as Nadeem, was also among those arrested in Pakpattan.

Furthermore, explosive material, detonators, improvised explosive devices, hand grenades, weapons and cash were seized from the arrested terrorists. The arrested terrorists have been identified as Nadeem, Shehbaz, Khalid, Madni and Salman.

This week, 769 combing operations were conducted during which 82 suspects were arrested, according to a CTD spokesperson.
