WASHINGTON: Donald Trump has said that he thinks US President Joe Biden will stay in the race for the White House despite calls for him to quit over concerns regarding his mental fitness.
The former President told Sean Hannity on Fox News, in his first interview since President Biden’s dismal performance in their presidential debate last month. Trump said, “He’s got an ego and he doesn’t want to leave,”.
Trump gave his first detailed account of the CNN-hosted debate in Atlanta, during which President Biden often lost his train of thought and at times spoke confusedly, looking stunned. The former President said that it was a strange debate, because within a couple of minutes, the responses given by him were, they didn’t make a sense. President Trump said that he intentionally did not look much at Biden during the debate.
Donald Trump said that he did take a couple of peeks when he was in the midst of giving really bad responses. He added that Biden could not answer in an appropriate way.
