WASHINGTON: Former US president Donald Trump has said that he would continue to run for the White House in 2024 if convicted in any of the investigations threatening to disrupt his unbridled comeback bid, AFP reported on Friday.
He was discussing the several indictments he confronts as he pushes for a second term, a day after prosecutors widened the charges against the former president over his handling of classified officials’ documents.
Trump Says will Continue Run for White House if Sentenced
Asked by a radio broadcaster if being sentenced would stop his election campaign, Trump quickly replied: “Not at all. There is nothing in the country’s constitution to say that it could. That would not prevent me — and it wouldn’t stop me. These men are sick and what they are doing is categorically awful.”
