ISLAMABAD: United States President Donald Trump again praised Pakistan and reiterated that he brokered ceasefire between Pakistan and India while refuting Indian claims that the US president did not play any role in the ceasefire.
Trump went on to suggest that trade was involved in the process. The remark was made in passing during a bilateral meeting with South African President Cyril Ramaphosa in the Oval Office.
“Through trade”
“If you take a look at what we just did with Pakistan and India…we settled that whole…and I think I settled it through trade,” Trump said, adding, that the US was “doing a big deal with Pakistan”.
“Somebody had to be the last one to shoot. But the shooting was getting worse and worse, bigger and bigger, deeper and deeper into the countries,” Trump said.
