WASHINGTON: Probable Republican presidential nominee and former president Donald Trump drew criticism for uploading a clip on social media that contains the photo of a hog-tied US President Joe Biden dyed on the tailgate of a truck.
The Biden campaign was quick to denounce the video for showing physical harm to the sitting president. President Biden has depicted his likely 2024 rival as someone who freely suggests Nazi imagery with regard to migrants, while also emphasizing in speeches that Donlad Trump’s efforts to overturn his loss in the 2020 polls ultimately led to attack on the US Capitol.
“Donlad Trump is often inciting violence and it is time people take him very seriously — just urge the Capitol police personnel who were attacked securing our democracy on January 6, 2021” Michael Tyler, the Biden campaign’s communications director said.
On the other hand, Donld Trump campaign spokesperson Steven Cheung said: “That image was on the back of a truck that was traveling down the road. Democrats have not only called for wicked violence against Trump and his family, they are truly weaponizing the justice system against the former President.”
Donald Trump posted the clip on his social media, Truth Social. The video shows a passing truck decked out with “Trump 2024” with the image of a seemingly helpless President Biden with his hands and feet tied highlighted on the back of the vehicle.
Earlier, Donald Trump posted an image on social media of himself holding a baseball bat next to a photo of District Attorney Alvin Bragg.
