ATLANTA: Former US President Donald Trump has pleaded not guilty in a case pertaining to his alleged involvement to overturn election results in Georgia, western media reported on Thursday.
Last week Trump appeared at Fulton County Jail in Atlanta, where his mugshot was taken.
Trump has been denying his role in interfering with election results, terming the case as politically motivated.
Trump says fully comprehends nature of charges
According to a court document filed on Thursday, Trump said that he fully comprehends the nature of the charges and his right to appear in court.
He added that: I do hereby freely and voluntarily waive my right to be present at my arraignment on the indictment and my right to have it read to me in open court.
The former President, the frontrunner for the 2024 Republican presidential nomination, has appeared in all three previous hearings.
Fani Willis, the Fulton County District Attorney who filed the case, requested that the hearings be held on September 5, and the trial begins on March 4, 2024.
The grand jury had already indicted Trump and 18 others in a conspiracy to overturn 2020 election results.
Trump will also face trial in a New York court on March 25, 2024, on other charges of hiding a money payment to a porn star.
He has termed all the investigations against him as part of a coordinated attempt by Democrats to target his candidacy. Trump, in a post on his Truth Social site, had described the Georgia investigation a “witch hunt.”
