MILWAUKEE:  Former US President Donald Trump projected an “incredible victory” Thursday in accepting the Republican presidential nomination from a party euphoric over his narrow escape from assassination and sustained by the apparent implosion of Biden’s reelection campaign.

“We will have an incredible win, and we will start the four greatest years in the history of our nation,” Trump, said at the Republican National Convention (RNC) in Milwaukee.

It was his first speech since a man shot at him, causing an injury to one ear and killing a bystander during an election rally last weekend.

In an emotional retelling of the gunfire, where Donald Trump said he had “God on my side,” he asked for a moment of silence to honor the victim of the attack, firefighter Corey Comperatore.

Warm-up action included shirt-ripping 1980s wrestling icon Hulk Hogan and conspiracy theorist Tucker Carlson, who described Donald Trump’s survival as a historic moment. Following, the assassination attempt, Donald Trump became “leader of a nation,” Carlson claimed.

Trump Vows to Complete Wall on US-Mexican Border

Pledging to complete a wall on the US-Mexican border, he stated an “invasion” of migrants had brought “destruction” to a “nation in decline.”

The former President pledged to end Biden’s administration massive spending on fighting climate change, describing it a “scam.” Trump again made his claim that Democrats cheated in his defeat to President Biden in the 2020 polls. And, despite aides pledging that Donlad Trump would not even say Biden’s name in the speech, he did refer to his rival and “the damage” he has done.

Despite a flood of scandals, impeachment for his record attempt to overturn the 2020 polls, and 34 felony convictions in May at a New York criminal trial, Donald Trump is on the rise in polls ahead of November.

Now, with Republicans more in step behind Trump than ever, he is optimistic regarding a shock return to White House. Trying to flip the script on allegations that he intends to rule as an authoritarian leader, Donald Trump insisted that he is “the one saving democracy” and also referred to his criminal probs as “witch hunts.”

Trump’s love-fest in Milwaukee contrasted with the crisis engulfing Joe Biden, 81. Biden looked close late Thursday to being forced by his political party to withdraw and make way for Kamala Harris or another candidate, as fears spiral that his uncertain health will lead to a loss in November.
