ATLANTA: Former US President Donald Trump left an Atlanta jail following he was booked on election charges on Thursday. The former President’s motorcade left the jail 20 minutes after entering and headed toward the airport, where his private jet was waiting to transport him back to his home.
Trump Booked on Election Charges, Heads New Jersey
He decried a “travesty of justice” after his formal arrest Thursday on election charges in Georgia, calling the case against him “election interference.” ” We did nothing wrong, ” Trump told reporters as he prepared to leave for home after being booked at the Fulton County Jail. He said, “What they are doing is election meddling,”. The former President did not specify who he was blaming for interference, but he has regularly criticized President Biden for allegedly hindering his reelection campaign.

Trump has entered unexplored territory as the first former US head of the state to face criminal charges, though the four cases filed against Trump have not damaged his front-runner position in the race for the Republican nomination to challenge Joe Biden in the 2024 election.

US media reported that Trump was also photographed for a police mug shot following his arrest on Thursday at a Jail in Georgia. The image, which has yet to be released, is set to become a world-famous picture as Trump fights several criminal cases at the same time as running to regain the White House in upcoming elections.
Earlier, Trump was formally arrested on election racketeering and conspiracy charges when he surrendered before the jail.
