ISTANBUL: Five people were killed and 25 others sustained injuries when a truck crashed into a crowd of mourners at a funeral in the southeastern Turkish province of Kahramanmaras on Saturday, AFP news agency reported citing official sources.

Reports from the local press indicate that the catastrophic incident was triggered by the truck’s brake system failing, causing it to speed uncontrollably down a road that overlooked a cemetery where numerous people had assembled for a funeral.
