Truck Art Exhibition in China Showcases Pakistan’s Diverse Cultural Landscape

BEIJING: Pakistan’s diverse cultural landscape was on full display at the first truck art exhibition held in Langfang, China to celebrate Pakistan’s 83rd National Day and 2023 as the Pakistan-China Year of Tourism Exchanges.

The exhibition, which is set to continue until July 24, was organised by the Pakistan Embassy in Beijing, in collaboration with Silk Road International Art Centre and renowned Truck Artists enterprise Phool Patti.

The opening ceremony was attended by a large number of people, including Chinese dignitaries, government officials, members of the diplomatic corps, business executives, media representatives, and the Pakistani community.

In his welcome address, Pakistan Ambassador to China Moinul Haque paid rich tribute to the founding father of the nation, martyrs, leaders, and heroes for their valuable contributions to making Pakistan a reality.

He called on Pakistanis to make the country a peaceful, progressive, prosperous, and pluralistic nation. The ambassador highlighted Pakistan’s strength as a tourist destination and invited Chinese friends to visit the country, especially during the China-Pakistan Year of Tourism Exchanges.

The exhibition showcased the colourful truck art of Pakistan, which features unique and creative manifestations of the country’s diverse cultural landscapes. Jin Yongsheng, Vice Chairman of ENN, the parent group of Silk Road International Art Centre, expressed satisfaction with the centre’s cooperation with Pakistan’s embassy and fondness for Pakistan’s diverse culture.

He underlined the pride of the centre in hosting the exhibition and introducing the wonderful work of renowned Pakistani artists to the Chinese audience.

Exhibition features specially-designed truck model

The exhibition featured a specially-designed truck model and other items ranging from bicycles, murals, clothes, fans, and ceramic pots designed by the Phool Patti team. The team held special live workshops for visitors to the exhibition, allowing them to witness the process of creating truck art.

The exhibition also saw students of Pakistan Embassy College Beijing (PECB) presenting a spectacular cultural performance.

The exhibition aimed to strengthen cultural and people-to-people exchanges between Pakistan and China, further promoting the goodwill and friendship between the two nations, particularly the younger generation.

With the China-Pakistan Year of Tourism Exchanges in full swing, the exhibition serves as a testament to the rich cultural heritage of Pakistan, offering Chinese visitors a glimpse into the country’s unique and diverse artistic expressions.
