TUNIS: A total of 5,353 Traffic accidents claimed 1014 lives in Tunisia from the beginning of this year to 23 December, the National Road Safety Observatory (ONSR) revealed on Sunday.
It said in a statement that the accidents also injured more than 7700 people, an increase of 7.43 percent year-on-year.
2180 accidents occurred due to lack of vigilance, claiming 259 lives and injuring 2590.
Over-speeding claim 265 lives
A total of 747 accidents were caused by speeding, killing 265 people and injuring 1319, ONSR said.
