ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s snow-covered hill stations and northern valleys have become a winter paradise, attracting a surge of tourists eager to experience the breathtaking scenery and thrilling winter sports.

The country’s northern areas and tourist destination, Murree, are witnessing a surge in tourism as heavy snowfall covers the upper parts of the country.

Officials from the Pakistan Tourism Development Corporation (PTDC) say that the snowfall has drawn thousands of visitors eager to experience the breathtaking winter landscapes.

Popular spots like Murree Mall Road, Jhikha Gali, Ayubia, Kashmir Point, Ghora Gali, Swat, and Malam Jabba have seen a notable influx of tourists.

Beyond Murree, the picturesque valleys of Kalam, Bahrain, and Malam Jabba in Swat have also experienced a significant uptick in tourist activity.

Families from Central Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are flocking to these scenic areas to enjoy the snowfall and take part in winter sports.

Upcoming events include a winter gala and sports rafting competitions along the Swat River, aimed at further boosting local tourism.

Authorities are aware of the challenges posed by snow-covered roads and are working diligently to ensure access is restored.

The Emergency Operation Centre remains operational, with the Pakistan Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) coordinating efforts to clear blocked routes.
