ISLAMABAD: Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) district administration on Friday changed the ‘venue of the court’ from F-8 Court Complex to Judicial Complex in Sector G-11 for Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan’s Toshakahana case.
Imran Khan will appear before the Islamabad district and session court on Saturday. The ICT Police has also appointed Chief Security Officer for Imran’s security.
Islamabad Chief Commissioner shifted the courtroom from the F-8 Court Complex to Judicial Complex, using administrative and judicial powers.
According to the notification, the Toshakahana case against Imran Khan will be heard in Court Number-1 of Judicial Complex in Sector G-11.
The notification stated that the place of hearing of the case had been transferred for one time.
“The Chief Commissioner, as a one-time dispensation, is pleased to declare Court No.1 Ground Floor Judicial Complex, G-11/4 Islamabad, venue for hearing of case’ District Election Commissioner vs Imran Khan Niazi on 18 March 2023 instead of F-8 Court Complex Islamabad.” a notification read.
It is pertinent to mention here that PTI leader Shibli Faraz met with Islamabad Police on security concerns of PTI supremo Imran Khan and had demanded to shift the F-8 courts to the judicial complex.

Police spokesperson asked citizens to keep their vehicle ownership proof while driving and to avoid unnecessary movement towards G-11 and G-10.
He asked people to carry CNICs and cooperation with police.
Imran Khan had repeatedly said there is a danger of another assassination attempt being carried out on his life if he appears in court. He has also specifically noted that the crammed court complex in F-8 is more prone to a security lapse.
During his last appearance in Islamabad’s courts, the PTI chief appeared in the judicial complex in G-11 and the Islamabad High Court but had not appeared in F-8.
The case for which the venue has been changed is the same one in which warrants were issued for the former prime minister’s arrest. The warrants led to clashes outside Imran Khan’s Zaman Park residence, from where police ultimately returned empty-handed.
Meanwhile, Islamabad police have placed containers on various roads in Islamabad as a security measure for Imran Khan’s appearance in the court in Toshakhana case.
