ISLAMABAD: The bail application of the wife of a judicial officer, Somia Asim, in the domestic worker torture case was dismissed by the Islamabad District and Sessions Court Monday leading to her arrest from outside the courtroom.
Somia Asim, the main suspect in the Rizwana torture case and the wife of a local judicial officer had filed a pre-arrest bail petition.
Additional District and Sessions Judge Farrukh Fareed rejected the bail application and allowed her arrest. The judge emphasized that the suspect must fully cooperate with the investigation. In response, Somia’s lawyer claimed that the accusations against her client were fabricated.
