Titanic Memorabilia Sells at UK Auction

LONDON: After 110 years of the tragic sinking of Titanic, a pocket watch of a postal clerk was auctioned in the UK for 98,000 pounds.

The watch belonged to a postal clerk Oscar Scott Woody, who lost his life in the incident. On 14th April 1912, when the giant ship sank, this clock fell into the deep bottom. The clock was found later and handed over to Oscar’s wife.

According to the reports, many other things found after the ship sinking was presented for auction. A menu card of the first class was also auctioned for 50 thousand pounds, a list of passengers travelling in the first class of the ship was also auctioned for 41,000 pounds, a dessert plate was auctioned for 20,000 pounds and a menu of a restaurant was auctioned for 23,000 pounds.
